This is a SIGNIFICANT Mercury Retrograde because it stations at 15º of Leo - smack bang in the middle of Leo.
More importantly it’s smack bang in the middle of the world axis points; 45º from 0º Cancer and 45º from 0º Libra.
These are the degrees that mark the turning of the seasons and connect with the pulse of the collective. When a planet hits 0º of any cardinal sign or is 45º, 90º, or 135º from those points it is said to activate world events or archetypal themes.
This midpoint is a critical degree; a sensitive degree that bridges the personal with the collective. So this Mercury retrograde hums with broadcast-level consequences. Whatever is being revised could have ripple effects beyond your personal life! It may link into collective narratives of leadership, visibility, creativity, and legacy.

Reading the Chart of the Retrograde
Over the years I’ve noticed that a retrograde is informed by the moment the planet stations. The themes that come up and stories that play out will be linked to the first moment that the planet ‘went retrograde.’
Mercury is at 15º, and so is Venus. She’s at 15º Gemini.
The Moon in Aries is conjunct Chiron
Mars is at the South Node, square to Venus.
Uranus is at 0º Gemini

In brief, there are VARIOUS outcomes.
There’s the good outcomes, the treasure returning to you. Friendships healed. Lovers reunited. VENUS THINGS easily connecting to your truest Mercury at 15º Leo heart’s desire.
Venus square to Mars and the nodes suggesting there need to be some difficult conversations. Words need to be said. Mercury needs to do his thing and it could bring reconciliation… but it involves addressing the depths that some avoidant people like to pretend are not there.
But then, what that Golden Retriever story showed me is that Mercury at 15º Leo is a critical degree that is EXTREMELY fixed. Leo is a sign associated with narcissism. Fixed minds that think they know best and are utterly SELF (Leo ruled by the Sun) absorbed. The man who owned these dogs has Uranus in Leo, probably some other placements too. I don’t have his DOB, only his age. The story made me see that some people are so self righteous, indignant and UTTERLY self (Leo) absorbed that they will claim victim, even when they are clearly the problem. Venus in flirtatious and fun Gemini is also peak smooth talking bullshitter. I say this as a Gemini rising with a love of my Gemini shadow… but Mercury is Mercury!
Venus square the Mars South Node conjunction in combination with Mercury retrograde in Mid Leo is perfectly descriptive of the problematic person who thinks they are above deep self-reflection. So instead they continue to pontificate about the state of the world, not realising that they are the problem. The next few weeks might present some challenges!
The viral video from the Coldplay concert did the same thing. It was like oh here we are, Venus in Gemini (the man with his lover and wife!) being backed into a corner so tight that “It Wasn’t Me” isn’t going to cut it.
Such a brilliant and clear manifestation of this chart where the 15º Leo arrogance (the shadow of Leo, not the definition of Leo!) is amplified on the world stage.
I wondered what it would be and whilst we see Isreal continue to behave like an arrogant narcissist; behaving problematically whilst also claiming victim, it’s very lighthearted and Venus in Gemini to make it a UNIVERSAL and very relatable story of CEO being unfaithful with his colleague.
